Fracture 1.5 released by Stick Software

Popular fractal screensaver adds Snow Leopard compatibility

Montréal, Québec, 12 October 2009 — Stick Software announced version 1.5 of Fracture, their popular screensaver for Mac OS X. Fracture generates an infinite variety of beautiful fractal images based upon mathematical formulas such as the Mandelbrot Set. If you have multiple processors, it will use all of them to calculate its images as quickly as possible, making it a great way to show off that new eight-core Mac Pro. And if you have multiple monitors, it will display fractals on all of them, in any of several different multimonitor modes. It is even user-controllable as it runs, allowing you to generate and save fractal images that suit your individual taste.

With version 1.5, Fracture is OS X 10.6 compatible; it was already Universal, so it will now run natively on all Macs running OS X 10.4 and up. Several other bug fixes and tweaks have also been made, so this release is a recommended upgrade for all users. Upgrading is free for registered Fracture users.

Fracture, along with such Stick Software products as Eyeballs, PhotoReviewer, Measles, Trisection and Ephemera, makes OS X more fun and more aesthetic. It is shareware, with a price of only $10, and it's free to try.
