Stick Software's Linked List

This is a list of links (right now, a short list; this is a work in progress) to some of the people in the online community that we want to express our appreciation for. They make great products, run great websites, or they're just great people.

We do tend to prefer to link to sites that link back to us, so if you want to be included here, step one is to link to us using one of our web badges or a text link that follows our guidelines.

Apple An amazing company that makes amazing products. First on my list because without Apple, Stick Software would not exist.
Hypertouch The host of sticksoftware.com, as well as an anti-spam and anti-junk-fax crusader, and a haptic peripheral designer.
widgetwidget A fantastic (and remarkably prolific!) icon designer. widgetwidget did the icons for Eyeballs and BigFoot, as well as an icon that will go into the next release of Measles.
Kyounglee Imaging Top-quality design work for web & print, as well as amazing photography. If you need professional art services, look no further.
The3dStudio.com These guys have great 3D tools and products, including tons of beautifully done repeating textures that can be used to wrap objects. They have been very generous in allowing us usage of their textures in some of our products, and we're very grateful.
ppdix An artist and website designer. ppdix did the icon for Ephemera.
dcraw dcraw is a raw image processing engine by Dave Coffin. He provides the source code for dcraw free of charge, and PhotoReviewer's raw image loading code is based on dcraw. Thanks, Dave!
IconFamily IconFamily is an open-source class for OS X that handles the minutiae of Finder icons, including making icon thumbnails from images. We use IconFamily in Constrictor and Fracture right now. It is written by Troy Stephens; thanks, Troy!
Led Airegin A great local band. They played at my wedding, and they recorded the music for Trisection. If you're in the San Francisco area, check them out live at Slim's.
Omni Group Great software, such as OmniWeb and OmniDictionary, and a great hub for developers as well, with their open-source frameworks and the macosx-dev mailing list.
sugar cube software A great little software house with some great products. I'm keeping my eye on their Cocoa Sprite Kit, which looks to be a very useful piece of technology.
Pronto Labels Pronto Labels makes iron-on labels for clothing that don't come off in the wash. If you don't have children, you maybe don't care. If you have kids, this is a godsend.
ittpoi Infinity-to-the-Power-of-Infinity, or ittpoi, makes a bunch of cool shareware for OS X. I'm hooked on Can Combine Icons, which manages to effortlessly crank out icons that would otherwise require Photoshop and much more work.
Unsanity Unsanity makes FruitMenu, which I find nearly indispensable. They also make WindowShade X, which I like, and lots of other great software. I keep meaning to play around with their Application Enhancer, which looks intensely cool, but I haven't gotten around to it yet.
Ranchero Ranchero makes NetNewsWire, a great RSS Web news reader for OS X. Use it to keep up to date on Stick Software news by subscribing to our RSS feed (just copy and paste that RSS feed URL into NetNewsWire's "subscribe" panel), as well as an almost infinite variety of other RSS news outlets and weblogs.
WünderMoösen WünderMoösen makes some useful software, and has a collection of beautiful fonts for only $5 each, too. I particularly like FontChecker, a font inspection tool that makes it easy to find the weird Unicode characters you sometimes need in order to type things like, well, WünderMoösen. They've got a great sense of humor, too.
VersionTracker A great software download site for OS X. Please don't use CNet (download.com, ZDNet.com, cnet.com); they charge software developers a bunch of money to be listed on their site, which amounts to a regressive tax on smaller software developers. Support VersionTracker instead.
AppKiDo AppKiDo is a reference tool for Cocoa developers that greatly eases the process of finding and reading the doc you need while you're working. Written by Andy Lee, and still a work in progress, so check it out and let him know what you think!
Strong Bad Incredibly funny, and incredibly prolific. Trogdor!!!

Have fun surfing around!
